The estate inventory (perunkirjoitus) must be completed within three months of the death. It is the most important administrative document of the estate and serves as the basis for inheritance tax assessment.

When must probate be completed?

The estate inventory must be carried out within three months of the death. An extension can be requested from the Tax Administration. We normally handle this on your behalf.

Who is responsible?

The obligation falls on the surviving spouse, heirs under intestate succession, and residuary legatees. It is sufficient for one of them to contact us: we will agree on a meeting and go through the required documents together.

Who is invited?

All co-heirs and legatees are invited. We send them a registered letter approximately two weeks before the meeting. Attendance is not compulsory.
